【摘要】:Thistestmethodisparticularlyusedformeasuringthevelocityatapointinanopenchannelaspartofavelocity-areatraversetodeterminetheflowrateofwater.TothisenditshouldbeusedinconjunctionwithTestMethodD3858.Asingleaxisprobewithcosineresponsewillsufficeformostoftheseapplications.Thistestmethodisalsousefulinapplicationswherethevelocityitself(ratherthanavolumetricflowrate)isthedesiredendproduct.1.1Thistestmethodcoverstheuseofsingle-axisordual-axiselectromagneticcurrentmetersforthemeasurementofwatervelocitiesinopenchannels.1.2Thistestmethodcoversonlythesecomponentsandappurtenancesofportableopen-channelcurrent-metersystems,whicharecustomarilyrequiredwhenanoperatorisinattendance.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
