【摘要】:Thistestmethodisintendedforthedeterminationofthearcratingofamaterial,oracombinationofmaterials.5.1.1Becauseofthevariabilityofthearcexposure,differentheattransmissionvaluesmaybeobservedatindividualsensors.EvaluatetheresultsofeachsensorinaccordancewithSection12.Thistestmethodmaintainsthespecimeninastatic,verticalpositionanddoesnotinvolvemovementexceptthatresultingfromtheexposure.Thistestmethodspecifiesastandardsetofexposureconditions.Differentexposureconditionsmayproducedifferentresults.Inadditiontothestandardsetofexposureconditions,otherconditionsrepresentativeoftheexpectedhazardmaybeusedandshallbedocumentedinthereportingofthetestingresults.1.1Thistestmethodisusedtomeasurethearcratingofmaterialsintendedforuseasflameresistantclothingforworkersexposedtoelectricarcsthatwouldgenerateheatfluxratesfrom84to25120kW/m2[2to600cal/cm2s].1.2Thistestmethodwillmeasurethearcratingofmaterialswhichmeetthefollowingrequirements:lessthan150mm[6in.]charlengthandlessthan2safterflamewhentestedinaccordancewithTestMethodD6413.1.2.1Itisnottheintentofthistestmethodtoevaluatenonflame-resistantmaterialsexceptwhereusedasunderlayersinmultiple-layerspecimens.1.3Thematerialsusedinthistestmethodareintheformofflatspecimens.1.4Thistestmethodshallbeusedtomeasureanddescribethepropertiesofmaterials,products,orassembliesinresponsetoconvectiveandradiantenergygeneratedbyanelectricarcundercontrolledlaboratoryconditions.1.5ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsshallberegardedasstandardexceptasnoted.Withinthetext,alternateunitsareshowninbrackets.Thevaluesstatedineachsystemmaynotbeexactequivalentsthereforealternatesystemsmustbeusedindependentlyoftheother.Combiningvaluesfromthesystemsdescribedinthetextmayresultinnonconformancewiththemethod.1.6Thistestmethoddoesnotapplytoelectricalcontactorelectricalshockhazards.1.7Thisstandardshallnotbeusedtodescribeorappraisethefirehazardorfireriskofmaterials,products,orassembliesunderactualfireconditions.However,resultsofthistestmaybeusedaselementsofafireassessmentwhichtakesintoaccountallofthefactorswhicharepertinenttoanassessmentofthefirehazardofaparticularenduse.1.8Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatoryrequirementspriortouse.Forspecificprecautions,seeSection7.
